AZURITE
The copper carbonate mineral azurite can form as short prismatic crystals, stalactites, masses, or botryoidal crystals. Crystallised azurite is incredibly uncommon, costly, and one-of-a-kind. F.S. Beaudant gave this mineral its name in 1824 because of its pure blue hue. Throughout history, azurite has been used extensively. In the early nineteenth century, Gaius Plinius Secundus called it "Kuanos" in his book "Natural History" and "Chessylite," after the region in eastern France where it was originally discovered.
