Larimar, a member of the Pectolite family and an exceptionally uncommon sodium calcium silicate, is also referred to as Stefilia's Stone, Atlantis Stone, and Dolphin Stone. Though solely in grey and white hues, pectolite is found all over the planet. Larimar's gentle blue hue results from the replacement of copper for calcium. Heavy volcanic activity allowed for the formation of this unique mineral in basalt rock cavities. This constant stream of lava started to move all of the minerals in its path as it flowed. Minerals started to sink in as the lava flowed across dykes and holes, forming the stunning stone known as lapis lazuli. This special mineral can only be found in one location.
