Source/s Mookaite is found close to the Kennedy Ranges near Gascoyne Junction in a small town east of Carnarvon in Western Australia.

Mineral: Chert, Opalite, chalcedony or a combination of all three. Depending on the degree of silica in the material determines it description. The best material is the chalcedonic variety as it generally comes in large or small nodules in radiolarian clay beneath the floor of the creek bed.

Physical Attributes: Mookaite is a mixture of brown, grey, white, orange-red, purple-red, cream, yellow and purple.
