Noreena Jasper aids in unnecessary judgement while shielding one from external criticism. It is a nurturing and protective stone, like all Jaspers. The stone symbolising kindness and calm is jasper. Due to its nurturing and protective properties, it is also referred to as the stone of nurturing.

About 700 miles north of Perth, in the Pilbara region of Western Australia, not far from the iron ore mining town of Newman, is where Noreena Jasper may be found.

The rock tends to fracture into angular fragments that are covered in the most exquisite abstract "geometric" patterns. Before the rock is sliced, it is impossible to predict what will be exposed.

The Munjina Stone and Noreena Jasper both come from the same geological deposit. Both of them may be found in the Hamersley Basin's Jeerinah Formation, which is a member of the Fortescue Group. It was deposited between 2765 and 2687 million years ago and is late Archaean in age.
